Winning steak?
Don't look now but the Tigers are starting to play some decent ball. After winning a series against the very good Oakland A's, the Tigers beat the Angels last night 5-3 by scoring 2 runs in the 9th inning. The Tigers' record now sits at 54-61. Detroit won't make the playoffs but if they play good the rest of the way then they will have a chance at ending the season at or close to 500.
Mike Maroth has been pitched much better of late for the Tigers. He has won his last 4 decisions and his record is now 9-7. He should be a very good pitcher down the road.
